That GLIAC man, it's like the Southwest Conference all over again. Pretty soon we're going to hear that NMU bought a kid an Arctic Cat and he still went to Tech.

In all seriousness, not a lot of impact from the sanctions here and it's not like Saggy really impacted anyone's championship runs with use of ineligible players. If anything, this and the FSU player in the Fall just makes everyone tighten up their own ships and better comply.

Did you actually read the letter from the NCAA?...there is much work to still be done and see what the results are. I think SVSU has taken the first steps to correct the issue but this is far from being over. Also the FSU issue is still in progress so there will be findings on that at some point. The devil is always in the details they say.

Yes. Still I don’t see anything Earth shattering coming from this. If this was 1A (It will always be 1A in my book) it would be no bowls and no March Madness, but what do sanctions at D2 really do to you? Loss of scholarships is probably the biggest punishment.

Will be interesting to see how Ferris situation plays out.

The FSU and Saginaw cases appear to be apples and oranges. As best as I can tell, Ferris only had one ineligible player (that we know of); the Saginaw case was much more significant, according to the lead paragraph in the above linked article:

Saginaw Valley State lacked institutional control and failed to monitor its eligibility certification process when it improperly certified the eligibility of 130 student-athletes in 15 sports over a five-year period, according to a decision issued by the NCAA Division II Committee on Infractions.

The UP version of Dickerson's Trans A&M. I like the reference.
