wow
A lot of these drug organizations like to set up in small towns near urban centers like Carlisle near Harrisburg and West Chester near Philly. Police forces are usually undermanned and under equipped to handle even relatively well run groups. Life in small town America in the 21st century. Really sad.
VERY sorry to read this.
In places like West Chester in particular, and Chester County in general, there's a county-wide drug task force which involves many of the larger police departments in the county (West Chester, Westtown-East Goshen, West Whiteland, Coatesville, Phoenixville, Kennett Square, etc.), county detectives (for those unfamiliar, these detectives work under the jurisdiction of the District Attorney's office) and State Police. The larger counties in Pennsylvania have such task forces, but it's a lot tougher in more rural areas, particularly between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014
Wow what a stupid decision that will cost him a reduced college tuition, the chance to play 2 more years of football with an outside shot at a professional career, and most importantly his freedom as I'm certain he will do a few years in prison to be made an example out of. Hopefully if there are any others on the team who are into this type of behavior its a wake up call to get out the game and fly straight. The worst part about a felony drug conviction is that you lose the opportunity for all future financial aid via the government so if he wants to further his education once he's released (if he is convicted) he'll have to obtain a private loan from a bank or pay out of pocket....
Yeah, and the thing was he was one of those kids who the pros would have taken a hard look at. Freakishly athletic, flew to the football.
For being a nice little town, Carlisle sure has its share of dead-end stories.
Carlisle by virtue of it's location at the intersection of several interstates with a lot of truck depots in town is an ideal trans-shipping point for distribution to most of the Northeast. Very hard to keep track of everything that comes and goes.
I don't get why they would take him off the 2018 roster with that season being done and completed you can't take away his stats or post season honors.
