Well. Congrats Augustana for winning it all. Good job Lady Javs and circle the date on the calendar to get back there next year. Learn and give it another try.

Superior game by both teams. One of the best games I've ever seen.

    Congratulations to Kingsville and Augustana!

    For women's SB = 77mph

A 70mph SB is equivalent to a low 90mph baseball due to the difference in pitching distance, 43ft vs. 60.5ft. So a 77 mph SB in knocking on the door of 100+mph as it crosses the plate!!!

The fastest recorded softball pitch is 77 mph (123.9 km/h), achieved by Monica Abbott (USA) on 16 June 2012 in a National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) game for the Chicago Bandits against the Carolina Diamonds in Kannapolis, North Carolina, USA.

That would be equivalent in baseball to about a 110mph fastball.

Amazing season for kville, who began as the 6th ranked team in the lsc. Shocked everyone. Unfortunately their big weakness all year has been the defense, and it caught up with them yesterday. Congrats on runner up tho!

Agreed, thought it was funny when I read an NCAA article that just showed how much they don't follow teams. The article stated that the Javelina pitching (agreed with this) and defense would keep them in games. You could tell that whomever wrote that article hadn't watched a game until they got to Denver. Like you said, the defense was what lead to many of their losses. Defense failed them at the worst time possible.

Or, on a POSITIVE note, THEY went to the SHIP.

    Enough said.

    Transferred from an OT thread:

Next season for WT depends greatly on who new HC hire is. An experienced HC, a proven recruiter with deep ties into the talent market, will go out and get some players that can compete immediately. Probably 3 or 4 transfers and about 10 new HS recruits. Rebuilding WT softball won't be anything like rebuilding WT football. I bet WT's softball record next year is as good as this years. I have much faith in our AD getting the right fit. Look what the right guy in Kingsville did in two years with no baseline like WT's.

WT's success (thanks Blas), tradition, facilities, and institutional commitment (HC and asst pay), is among the best in all of D2. McBroom will hire us a winner. A big winner. I'd bet on it. I'm expecting an announcement next week.

ASU picked up what could be a big time commitment from Paxton Scheurer, a transfer from UNLV. She is originally from Mansfield where she was a FloSoftball 1st Team All American and MaxPreps 1st team All American. She has the potential to come in and give us a big lift in the circle immediately.

Reed McDonald, who went to every WT softball game, road and home, passed away yesterday. One of the players said yesterday he was the first fan of the program, other than families of the players.

I had the privilege to meet Mr. McDonald a few years back when he came to ASU. My condolences to his family and Buff Nation
