Burkhart's a big get for you. He dominated some Mid-Penn Commonwealth games last year on both sides of the ball. Very physical.

Does he project more as a RB or a LB?

I think his physicality translates best to the defensive side of the ball. He's definitely a fullback type on offense, and would be a solid blocking back. But the Huskies would probably get more mileage out of him at linebacker.

Looks like 19 announced on this thread. The class is usually around 30, so more coming. They usually don't post the class until March, when all the letters of intent arrive on campus.

    Recruiting class announced:

    Football | 2/22/2019 9:23:00 AM
    Story Links
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg University head football coach Paul Darragh has announced his 2019 football recruiting class. The Huskies will welcome 23 new players to the program for the upcoming season.

"Our staff is extremely excited to add this group of student-athletes to our roster," said Darragh. "We feel that we addressed our needs on both sides of the ball but more specifically on the defensive side. We are also very pleased on what these young men have done off the field. This class is extremely strong academically and they all exude the type of strong character that will benefit our program. We look forward to seeing these players in the Maroon and Gold."

Sixteen of the 23 newcomers were recruited to play on the defensive side of the ball while seven are slated to be on offense. Each one of the new recruits hail from the state of Pennsylvania.

Diving deeper into the class, seven are projected to be members of the secondary while another three are expected to provide depth at the linebacker position. The other six on the defensive side were recruited as defensive linemen. On offense, joining the Huskies are three running backs, two linemen, one wide receiver, and one quarterback.

Bloomsburg finished the 2018 season with a 6-5 overall record and took third place in the PSAC Eastern Division standings with a 4-2 divisional mark and, for the 20th consecutive season, the Huskies wrapped up the year with a winning record and won six or more games. The latter is a conference record and the winning-season streak is the third longest in conference history, behind 31 for West Chester and 22 for Clarion. Bloomsburg's previous school-record streak for consecutive winning seasons was 10, set from 1946 to 1955. The winning record this year also came against long odds as it was only the third time in school history the program managed a winning record after having a losing mark through five games. The other two were in 1946 and 2007, which ended with four- and five-game winning streaks, respectively.

    Thanks Bart.

I ltook a look at all of the recruits highlight reel. I like quite a few of the defensive guys. I think DT Cole Senior might have to convert to MLB due to his size, but I LOVE his motor. RB Nasir Legree is pretty shifty. And this class has only 1 QB in Chris Dare, but his film looks good.

It appears to be the smallest class in terms of numbers and size in recent years, but maybe there could be a few late additions. There is no one that stands out as a possible impact player freshman year. Surprised to see only 1 WR and 2 OL. The QB position has 3 or 4 that are already in the program. Time will tell, but it appears to have quite a few leaders; solid academically and 13 team captains.

Average class. But who knows when you are dealing with 17-18-19 year olds, Things always change. My concern is Small DLineman recruits. Usually 511 or 6foot means 5foot9 or 5foot10 in high school. Must of been a weak local year for them. West Chester's DL recruits are not huge as usual. And I am surprised they recruited John Ayers as a running back. I thought he would be more on the defensive side at D2 level. He put up some big numbers in the Heartland but not sure he will workout at halfback at Bloom. But again who knows.

I bet Ayers could be a safety.

Spring roster posted. A quick look has WR Gilhool back as an MBA student. He was injured last year and was a R-Sr, so he must have received a medical redshirt for his 6th year. OL Tripp was a Sr last year, so he must have gotten a redshirt.

Lost on the current roster: RB Osameka, LB Dial, DB Celius, DB Parks, WR Swanson. Also not present are those who would have been R-Sr: DB Delgado, WR Wilson, RB Arcangeli. They must have decided against a 5th year, or the roster could change, or my eyesight is going.

New coach listed is Evan Brandes who takes over special teams from HC. Brandes may have coached last year at Minnesota-Crookham, but his biography isn't posted. HC Darraugh takes on rbs from Coach Dennis; Dennis now has the DL where he played.
