If this is true, would it be beyond comprehension that Kade Bell could be in the HC conversation? I know he is young, but he knows the players, has run the offense, and with this talented group I would think that would be important.

No way. But, for all the reasons you stated, seems he would be a good fit to be (remain) the OC.

Whoever VSU decides to be the H.C. ... will have to be someone with a good network of
High School connections and other avenues to recruit.

By having virtually no one to do meet and greets with prospective players,
Herb had better find a Florida guy to help us.

This is where you're on to something. Half of VSU's roster is Florida kids, since they can offer them in-state tuition now. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to consider a UWF assistant, especially if they're involved in play calling.

I am sure they are considering this , but as Mr. Larold articulated so well; "Hurry up and do it!"

I'm guessing we'll know something around Tuesday.

Time matters. Frankly, if we don't get someone in place we're going to lose a recruiting class (and with the long season I'd guess we were already challenged on that, though winning the NC probably neutralizes that to an extent).

I've got 2 names I'd bet on (maybe 3), all with previous ties to VSU but not so far out there that they've moved past a role as a D2 HC at one of the more successful schools in the division.

If i were the AD i would hire Ashley Anders from Tift Co. and he could keep Kade Bell on as OC. Anders is a good defensive coach with relationships all over Georgia, FL and the MS Juco schools. He has been successful everywhere he has been. I think this would be a great combination.

Is Kade not leaving? My understanding was that he and Darveau were going to USF.

It was my understanding that Kade was most likely going a little later.

i would think he would stay here if given the head coaching job or the OC job.

Not very likely given all the new coaches needed. Kade has a ton of potential but to go from (officially) a GA to head coach or OC of a National Championship team would be a pretty big jump, even if he was doing a lot of the play calling in tandem with Darveau.

Unless the new HC is a primarily defensive guy, then he might want the familiarity with the players and offense that Kade could provide...

In the title game, the broadcast crew seemed to portray him as "the" signal caller with Daddy Bell having veto authority. It's kinda weird that his job title, duties there were a bit of a secret.

He fully lists himself as OC of the National Championship team.

My guess is that is the result of a father trying to guide along his son within the constraints of a D-II budget.
