    Default Week 9 Pick'Em and Week 8 Wrap-Up

The NE saw the first part of their three-way battle for the league title last week as New Haven got out to a big lead against Assumption and barely held on for a 27-21 win. New Haven is now tied with LIU-Post with 6-0 league records. Post will travel to Assumption this coming week in the next installment of the three-way battle.

    Last week's winners were:
    1. Merrimack over St. Anselm 31-28 - A close game throughout, but Merrimack got a few more points.
    2. Bentley over Stonehill 38-10 - A game reflective of what many thought Bentley was capable of this season.
    3. New Haven over Assumption 27-21 - New Haven scored the first 27 and went into cocoon mode, which nearly cost them the game.
    4. LIU-Post over Pace 41-6 - Pace only managed to complete four passes...but they were all to Post defenders.
    5. SCSU over AIC 48-21 - SCSU had the ground and air attacks going for them.

The Pick'Em standings after Week 8 are:

    Name Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6 Week 7 Week 8 Total

The NE10 schedule for Week 9 has all their games on Saturday, October 27:

    1. New Haven at Stonehill, 1:00 PM - If New Haven wants to play for the title, they would do well not to overlook Stonehill.
    2. AIC at Merrimack, 1:00 PM - AIC still looking for that elusive first win.
    3. SCSU at Pace, 1:00 PM - The battle of two 4-3 teams.
    4. LIU-Post at Assumption, 1:00 PM - If Assumption wants to get back into the league race, this is a must-win. Post needs to win to stay in first place.
    5. Bentley at St. Anselm, 6:00 PM - Bentley is looking to get a winning streak going late in the season.

New Haven at Stonehill. - Unless Deon Sanders and Ronnie Lott show up for Stonehill, don't see much of a problem here.
AIC at Merrimack - D1 vs Mr Carey's 10th grade gym class.
SCSU at Pace - QB issues dog the Setters.
LIU-Post at Assumption - Unlike most of you homers, I'm objective. Post is the greatest team ever assembled.
Bentley at St. Anselm - Jeckle and Hyde returns in time for Halloween.

Regarding Liu I sense some sarcasm? I agree about pace. Putrid qb play I can’t beleive they don’t turn to the backup. I believe he’s a freshman but I went to the post game last week. That was by the far the worst qb performance I’ve seen on any level of football in my 25 years watching.

I have been accused of that before.
