    2. No votes for Assumption or Mon Valley Community College. So you both still suck in the eyes of the coaches.

Doesn’t matter it’s all about hardware right? and playoff positioning right? You guys have been preaching the polls doesn’t matter now your in the rear view for the state game at the moment you sing a different tune. Cal is winning ahead of schedule and returns everyone damn near. The PSAC is gonna be seeing a lot of black and red for a while. We enjoyed seeing IUP on top for a year though. It was cute the way you guys were so sure you’d dominate like the old days silly hawks fans. No run along and go politic for a Harlon Hill trophy or poll votes or whatever it is you’ll try to grasp onto for relevance the boys from the mon valley are ring chasing.

The Rock is no JOKE, better come ready to play. IUP suffer 2 losses in a row.

The same Rock that lost to Ship and gave up 21 to the offensively-inept Mercyhurst Lakers?

In news that surprises no one, an SR1 team with 2 losses fails to get respect from national voters. More at 11.

Keep winning and Cal will be in the poll.

Not celebrating, just thought it was a big hit to IUP. Complimented KU on getting ranked. Why the acrimony?

Hey, we take the loss. Nobody from IUP vanishes. When Cal was 0-2 Homer was the only one left. The rest turned in to pumpkins.

These national polls are meaningless. And you're well aware of that.

There's a handful of programs that can lose and not suffer a drastic drop in the rankings simply because of who they are or what conference they play in. IUP isn't one of those programs. I'm honestly quite surprised they didn't fall further based on that knowledge. Grand Valley could go out and lose to an unranked opponent and still find themselves in the Top 10. That's how it works with these polls.

I've said for a long time that I wish these polls did not exist. Creates mindless chatter like this and only serves as motivation for a lesser squad to "get up" for a game. At the D1 level, the only thing that matters is the playoff rankings. At this level it is all about the regional rankings. There's no reason for meaningless polls to exist before the "real" rankings are published. If the AP or Coaches polls have no bearing on the playoff committee's ranking, which they claim is the case, why even have the polls beforehand? Same in Division 2. This stuff is irrelevant. These coaches aren't tuned into what's happening around the entire country. Especially when there isn't any media coverage to showcase small schools and programs in areas with no true media market.

I agree, these polls are just for chattering. It's nice to say you beat the #2 team in the nation...but are they really the second best team in the nation? Short of playing a tournament with all the teams and see who is standing at the end we can never know.

If Mon Valley were #2 we’d never hear the end of it.?
