Curious to know who actually contributed on the field and who was in the stands blowing into a tuba.

I didn't play football when I attended IUP from 1998-2003, but I was on the football team as the equipment manager. It was awesome in 1998, I got to travel to Maryville, Missouri. It is a memory I will never forget.

The only way I could have been on the field in college was if I was part of the goalpost. I was skinny as a rail at 155 pounds and 6’3”.

Now I’m just barely underweight to be a defensive lineman but I’m old at 51.

I was in the stands almost every home game for six years plus several away games at Cal, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Lock Haven, Slippery Rock, and Youngstown State. There was no football in my future. I was about 5-7 and 145 pounds when I graduated high school. That wouldn't have got you equipment manager at a AAAA WPIAL school.

I think I attended 1, maybe 2 games when I was a student, and it wasn't as a player. I do recall hearing the crowd noise on Saturday afternoons.

I was either in the press box covering the game, doing color for the local radio station or shooting photos on the sideline. I tackled nobody.

IUP varsity athlete but not football.

I note the creator of this thread hasn't answered his own question.

I grew up a huge IUP football fan. And I’ve been a big fan as an adult. While in college, I think I went to maybe 5 games. I was one of those who couldn’t wake up for a noon kickoff.

I also grew up a huge Edinboro football fan. Attended almost every Homecoming game and any additional vs Clarion. Now that I'm old and with kids I make 3-4 games a year. I wish it were more but I'd rather keep my marriage.

I was every home game the entire time I was on campus. I was a Summer-January Freshman so I missed the 1984 season because I was home working.
