UCM always looses a game that they were favorites.Last year UCO got them and Hays and Northwest. I see at least three losses. Don't know who will bite them but it will happen.

Non-biased hot take: I think Washburn is the scariest team in the league that nobody is talking about. FWIW, I felt the same way last year about Fort Hays State.

Nope they don't have any interior DL. Bottom four in the conference is where theyll end up

Interesting to read that. That used to be a strength of their program. What (or-perhaps more apt-who) changed?

    Two theories.

    1. This is flimsy. I think Zac Watkins can really coach linebackers, and wants as many on the field as he can get. Tillman and mcgreevy for instance, both local kids, are above average in the conference. They've favored smaller lbs that can cover ground with good run stopping instincts, and have a few they are excited about.

Theory 2. Which is more accurate imo. They can't land the big dl prospects in KS,MO that go d2. They have a poor track record developing the few they get since new DC/DL coach. So they have been living and dying by Juco dl, and haven't been able to land kids.

    Nathan Shepherd
and I predict for this year Wyatt Parker followed by the up and coming Sterling Swopes

is starting to form a lineage of developing DL coming out of FHSU
