#2 W Florida travels to #11 Midwestern State in North Texas on Sept 8. Argonauts will be tested early on. Mustangs have a reputation for starting season strong, not so much in finishing the season in playoffs.

If the Bulldogs win and win and win etc, they will be ranked, playoffs are always the goal, and must go 1-0 every week to achieve it.

Only ranking that matters is the final regional poll.

You win the prize for being the first person to use this over-used phrase for the season!

If pre-season polls are based off of last year then I’m shocked to see that Auggie got some votes despite going 4-7 last year. But I do think they should be better this year.

    Yes,

Most of the preseason polls are based upon last years finish....but you will also see teams that are consistent performers (yearly) get the nod over teams who don't have much history in the top 25. Grand Valley is a perfect example of that, as they didn't make the postseason a year ago, lost maybe the best RB in the country, and are ranked 10th. Augie was in the top 25 mix for the better part of the last few years with Trey Heid, so they have top 25 history, but took a full step back a year ago. As you mentioned, going from 4-7 to ranked does seem to a leap.

I voted for UMD in my top 25, yesterday. FWIW.

Seeing Augustana getting some votes made me laugh, apparently not many poll voters noticed Augies 4-7 record last season.
