Here is one on D3 logos. Evidently this is a six part effort- I'll look back for the D1 post.

I still prefer the Amhurst Lord Jeffs to the Mammoths because of the PC move.

And I forgot that Augsburg (MN) changed from a college to a university.

Hey, Laker. Good stuff, and fun. Hillsdale now has three logos, three different helmets and three different uniforms for home games.

School nicknames, colors and how they got them has always fascinated me. MSU-Mankato, for example, was purple and gold. Then they lost a coin flip to Winona at a 1936 Homecoming game to see who would get those colors. MSU had orange and black (or navy, depending on who you talked to) until 1956 when they went back to purple and gold. Oddly, Winona lists their official colors as purple and white.

I wish MSU had kept the black and orange since those were the colors of my high school, the Buffalo Lake Lakers.

I think posts #5 will be on NAIA, with #6 on JC and independent schools.

I don't see much of a difference with the Oklahoma logo, other than the fact that it's still Oklahoma-size ugly...

It said that the image is now shorter and wider.

I can't think of anyone who has said to me, "I wish I was shorter and wider."

Fairmont State University (MEC) unveiled their new campus wide logo/trademark in June.
