    Default Gannon Recruits

Pine-Richland graduate Sean Colosimo among 7 players to join team.

Pine-Richland graduate Sean Colosimo, who helped the Rams reach the inaugural PIAA Class 6A boys basketball final this past March, is one of seven players who comprise Gannon University’s latest recruiting class.

The Golden Knights, coached by John Reilly, announced Friday those who will join the program for their 2017-18 season.

Colosimo, a 6-foot guard, is the lone Pennsylvania recruit amid the Knights’ newcomers. He was part of a Pine-Richland program that went 67-15 over his four seasons, and also won consecutive WPIAL 6A titles.

The Rams advanced to last season’s final in the state’s new large-school class. They lost to Reading 64-60 at Hershey.

Other new names and faces for Gannon’s roster will be:

    • Matt Johnson, 5-11 sophomore guard, Chicago: Transferred from Triton (Illinois) Community College. Before that, he helped Adlai E. Stevenson High School win the state’s Class 4A championship as a senior.

    • Kofi Mills, 6-7 junior forward, Bronx, New York: Transferred from Niagara (New York) Community College, which advanced to last season’s NJCAA quarterfinals. He played varsity ball for Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, New York.

    • Cyril Ogbuagu, 6-6 freshman forward, Upper Marlboro, Maryland: Graduated from Riverdale Baptist High School. He averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders, and graduated as the school’s career leader in rebounds.

    • Daryl Porter, 6-1 junior guard, Southfield, Michigan: Transferred from Macomb (Michigan) Community College, and was part of last season’s team that reached the NJCAA round of 16.

    • Daniel Sapp, 6-4 senior guard, Streetsboro, Ohio: Transferred from PSAC West Division rival California (Pa.) He recorded 470 career points and 286 rebounds in 81 games for the Vulcans.

    • Devin Smith, 6-2 freshman guard, Finksburg, Maryland: Played for Newtown High School, which twice won state championships during his varsity career. He was named Baltimore County’s player of the year as a senior.

Gannon opens the season Nov. 10 vs. Wheeling (West Virginia) Jesuit in the Clarion Hotel Conference Challenge at Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

You cut the last sentence off. It says this was a formal introduction of the 2019 LeMoyne recruiting class.
