They still have a chance in the Dancing Competition.

What team do you support, Laker? Just wondering ... is it Mercyhurst?

So FSU lays an egg and goes 3-17 from three point land. Scores only 61 v NWMSU.

Looks like Auggieholic calls the bracket

So tell me again about the run and gun style of the MEC

As we IUP fans have seen twice, those bright CBS lights can overwhelm a team. That and a really good opponent with a perfect game plan.

The Atlantic is now 0-4 since 2010.

Could tell that the stage overwhelmed them yesterday. I think IUP was beaten by clearly better teams. They didn't play well in either or those games, but I think IUP's best effort still probably comes up short in both of those instances. NWMST is good, not sure they're that much, if any, better than Fairmont. Consider both of those teams ran roughshod over their competitors all year.

Those guys were out of sorts. Could see the way Calhoun was screaming at them to run and go and get back down on offense when they would rebound. Something was just off there. And it was easy to see, even in a national championship game, those guys weren't used to things not going their way. The body language early on when shots weren't falling and they realized they were playing a road game, yeah, it wasn't good.

And in Division 2, as we saw with IUP at Fairmont and with what Lombardi said after the game, it's not easy to play in a hostile environment when you haven't played in one all year. Fairmont didn't play in a hostile environment all year, and that showed yesterday. What a performance that crowd had for NWMST. Every possession they were into it. You could really tell watching that those guys weren't in Fairmont, WV anymore.

I also think that the out of control 180% speed, press, and effort played with all year finally in a sense got them. NW was a team that had enough size and athleticism to defend and they knew exactly how to break that press. That was probably the only time all year that Fairmont played a team that had a structure on defense, stayed committed to their style on both ends of the court, and didn't panic when FSU bodies were flying all around them. That team had an excellent gameplan going into that game.

A lot of credit goes to that coaching staff. Those players knew exactly what they were supposed to do.

The only four teams from what is now the Atlantic Region to win the NCAA D2 men's basketball national championship since the 1977 restructuring into the current three division format: Cheyney (1978) and Virginia Union (1980, 1992, 2005).
