Between CWU's newspaper and the Ellensburg Daily Record, they provide some great columns on CWU's sports teams and athletes. Here are 3 good ones about some of the basketball players

CWU has a great new 6'11" center, but where did he come from and how did he get to CWU? Fuquan Niles played with fellow Wildcat Naim Ladd at Rainier Beach. He had offers from UW and WSU, but was academically ineligible. He played at North Idaho College where he became a CWU recruiting target. However, CWU wouldn’t take his credits from his first year at NIC. Niles attended Texas Permian Basin but only for a semester before realizing he wasn't comfortable there. He spent some time away from college hoops before he became CWU's new center.

Dom Hunter transferred to CWU from UAA for good reason. His father played for CWU in the 90's while his mother ran track. He was actually born in Ellensburg before his family moved west. Hunter was homesick in Alaska and was not a big fan of the dark and cold winters, either. So he found himself back where it all began at CWU, and he has been shining since!

Marc Rodgers was the starting PG for CWU in 2013-14 and 2014-15 before breaking his tibia and badly injuring his knee, causing him to sit out all of 2015-16. He now plays in a reserve role, but is one of the veteran team leaders for CWU.
