So how many times can a team get beat by 14 at home and move UP four spots in the poll? That's what happened after Emporia State beat Drury 73-59 to snap the Panthers 28 game home court winning streak. Must be some crazy respect for the Lady Hornets if they can beat a team and said team moves up.

Yep. Because it's all about the hornets.

I'm venturing to guess their 22-point win over Harding had a lot to do with that move up. Although, I suppose we'll see about how likely Drury stays up because they play at Arkansas Tech next Wednesday. That's not going to be an easy game for Drury considering Arkansas Tech almost beat them in Springfield last season. Unfortunately a cold shooting spell cost the Golden Suns a game in that one.

The Emporia game was a good learning experience for a young Drury squad that starts 2 freshmen and has underclassmen play the bulk of their minutes. They knew before the game this would be a bigger challenge than playing the Fighting Illini was. Drury has some upside as these young girls grow and their best player who has not played a game this year returns.

When you get comments like the bolded above, it is.
Playing a D2 school on your home floor is a bigger challenge than playing a Big Ten team?

I am sorry but anytime you can beat the Hornets, it is a big deal. They are always good. I think their coach could take any team in the MIAA to the NCAA Finals. It will come down to Pitt State and Emporia with Mo Western pushing hard.

Not impressed with UCM. There wins are not against any quality teams. Their defense is horrible. Paige Redman is doing a great job on the point. Fleming will be good down the road, but has a lot of growing to do. Neither Skaggs girl can defend.
