Just read in the Times-Record News about MSU's freshman being out for the year due to torn Achilles tendon. Prayers for him on a speedy recovery. I hate hearing injuries that take someone out for an entire season.

Agreed, this is one of the worst parts of sports. Injuries that can often times affect your entire career.

This will hurt MSU, Kid was a good player off the bench for the Mustangs.

Averaged 10 Pts 2.1 Rebs 2.1 Ast and 1.3 Stls a game off the bench 17.5 Mins/game this season.

Lady Greyhounds looked good against Commerce, whole bench played. Guys not so much, new coach new system lots of talent not alot of chemistry.

Good win for the Rams on the road at Midwestern to start conference play. I didn't follow the game, but saw that the score was close. I think that is only the 3rd time in last 20 something trips to Midwestern that we have won on their court. That is a hard place for us to win.

Big win by the Belles as well.

This is going to be a long year for both Mustang squads. Women didn't even look like they cared they were getting beat by 40. Its getting tough to watch. Guys let this one slip through their hands, they need someone to take over the go to player role.

If ENMU women are able to win sat i think they will crack the national polls and will for sure get a spot in the regional rankings.

So I have the spreadsheet complete for the women's side, up to last night's results this is what I show:

    1.) CSU Pueblo
2.) Ft Lewis - Reason they are so high is SOS = .632
    3.) Eastern NM
4.) Angelo St - SOS: .380 Would be higher if it wasn't for this.
    5.) St Mary's
    6.) Newman
    7.) Regis
    8.) TX A&M Kingsville
    9.) West Texas A&M
    10.) Colorado Mesa
    11.) Colorado Springs
    12.) Texas Woman's
    13.) TX A&M Commerce
    14.) Arkansas Fort Smith
    15.) Metro St
    18.) Tarleton St
    21.) Permian Basin
    23.) Western NM
    25.) Cameron
    27.) Midwestern

Again it is not by any means perfect just a talking point. Hope to have the guys done soon so we can compare that as well.

I noticed on the WT site that the women have already lost 2 conference games. Is this a surprise to the WT folk ?

Unfortunately, are not surprised and there will be more to come. Offense has been inconsistent and we struggle against quicker teams. Last night, key players got in deep foul trouble early.

IMO---it's not the offense. We saw this late last year and there is a carry over---can't get a stop on "D" when you need it to win a game.

ENMU Lady Greyhounds takes down another unbeaten conference opponent.

If things stay like this they the game on the 21st is going to be interesting!

Impressive. TSU women are now 4-5 on the season. You need to tell the whole story.

Ok um ENMU shot pretty poorly, and still beat them.

Fyi the game on thursday wasn' t as close as the score indicated.

Lady Greyhounds are a very good team, the kind of good Eastern hasnt had in a long long time!

    I meant unbeaten in conference.

FYI. Every game is as close as the score indicates. Facts are facts.

We should have a clearer picture after this weekend when ASU and ENM play the same two teams in Las Vegas.

True enough. ASU is probably miles ahead of everyone, but this years girls team at Eastern is the best ive ever seen them field.

Not in the LSC obviously but CSU-P women have looked pretty impressive thus far. Ft. Lewis was completely dismantled by them in Durango. Interested to see how far they can go this year.
