Re: PASSHE - our alma maters

That should be the result when a wise kid, like the one in this article, gets free tuition funded by the state taxpayers.

$4M in money from Pa. to make college free for more Cheyney students

    Re: Midsummer football talk...

    ^^^ Don't get that.

The PSAC East is going to have their hands full with Shepherd's Bagent, if the Rams can replace the production of their top two receivers from last year. Stroud, Ship, Kutz...

Agreed. I've made the one-day round trip from southeastern PA to Indiana and California many times over the past several years and noon starts allow that to happen.

    Re: LHU adding Women's Wrestling

And by support you mean money? Very few sports at any school get as much support as their football and men’s basketball teams do.

When Temple dropped 7 sports 5 years ago due to lack of support,...

I agree with all of this, including the part about laws made with good intentions but having horrible unintended consequences.

The conference press release is precious.

    MIAC announces conference membership change

So the St Thomas president apparently agreed?

    Re: PSAC baseball in Johnstown

Communities are the ones that are usually opposed to schools having lights at their outdoor athletic facilities.

Rock is the only on-campus baseball field that has lights that I can recall.

    Re: PSAC baseball in Johnstown

That's a good way of looking at it. It adds two games to the overall sub-regional schedule:
    6 team region - Day 1 - 1 game, Day 2 - 2 games, Day 3 - 2 games
    8 team region - Day 1 - 2 games, Day 2...

Re: UNC-Pembroke Football / The MEC

Fully aware. But that was the year they made the playoffs and, as been pointed out earlier, lost at home by 26 points to a PSAC school.

That's right. I forgot about one-hit wonder Charleston in 2015. When did Fairmont claim the top spot in the MEC?

    Re: PSAC baseball in Johnstown

All 8 softball regions had 8 teams or 2 4-team sub-regionals. So more schools sponsor softball than baseball in the Atlantic, Southeast, South Central and West regions I guess.

Re: UNC-Pembroke Football / The MEC

Another consideration - the top seeded team (first round bye, home field throughout) has won the region in 6 of the past 8 years. Only Shepherd in 2016 and West Chester in 2013 won two playoff games...

    Re: PSAC baseball in Johnstown

It's the 3 team subregional that weird. The two lower seeds play (Bloomsburg/Mercyhurst) on opening day, then the loser of game 1 (for example Mercyhurst) plays the host (Millersville) on the second...

    Re: PSAC baseball in Johnstown

Thanks for all of your detailed research on this. It seemed odd that the Atlantic had only 6 teams while the East had 8, but i suppose the cutoff point is in that area of 33-34 teams in a region.
