    Re: G-MAC / GLIAC Updates

It's not quite that simple...things as I understood them were more complex than that. With that said, what you wrote isn't inherently untrue...again, just not the entirety of the story.

    Re: G-MAC / GLIAC Updates

Deleted the history lesson for the sake of space...but I enjoyed it.

I think your scenarios are about right. I also agree that they are all probably long-shots. Northwood isn't going anywhere...

    Re: G-MAC / GLIAC Updates

I have long shared my skepticism of this. I never say never, and I understand the reasons 'why'. I also understand the reasons 'why not'...and in mind that list isn't short. I notice you typed...
  5. Re: From D3: U. of St. Thomas kicked out of their league

    A fair question, I suppose.

The more I think about this situation, there HAS to be even more at play than simply "they win too much". Gotta be some sort of politics impacting from somewhere.

  6. Re: From D3: U. of St. Thomas kicked out of their league

I know very little about the situation, but everything I am reading states that this is because of football...I would submit that football is nothing more than a scapegoat here. St. Thomas has won...

    Re: Saggy Head Coach Cannidates

Totally agree. While the Pioneer League is D1, it is "non-scholarship" D1. Just isn't as much money involved there in pretty much every facet of the program.

    Re: Saggy/NCAA

Can't speak to whether it is a "ship-jump" or not, but people sure seem to be leaving. Looks like the RB Coach (who actually had a lot of positive rep among HS coaches, I'm given to understand) is...

Re: D2 Players in the Super Bowl - 2019

You're dead-on regarding the Rams pass rush being far more middle-based...and that does give TB12 more fits than edge rushers do.

I'm interested to see how LA's run D does. They were 23rd in the...
  10. Re: Is the gap closing between D1 FCS Football and D2 Football?

Of course they do. But you too seem to be missing my point...depth is the only thing that those additional schollies GUARANTEE. They do NOT guarantee a bevy of elite talent. AND, that depth is...

    Re: D2 winter snooze fest

According to this map, Lake Superior is rooting for the Chiefs...apparently the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is "undecided". Not aware of anyone that actually lives "in" the Lake...except maybe the...
  12. Re: Is the gap closing between D1 FCS Football and D2 Football?

Yikes...this is better as a live conversation than one where you have to type.

My real point (that you cut off) is that DEPTH is the only truly guaranteed advantage offering more scholarships...
  13. Re: Is the gap closing between D1 FCS Football and D2 Football?

This question seems to pop up every year...or a relative facsimile of it. Based on some of the responses within this thread, it does appear we are finally getting more folks to realize the reality...

    Re: Grand Valley Schedule 2019

Both you and Irish are indeed right, Champ. In my experience with GV, they have never not tried to fill every open date. Getting folks to agree to doing so is its own challenge, and there is very...

    Re: Ferris Football

Whether a team has ever won a playoff game or not has ZERO to do with where they are seeded within a given season. Each season is its own, independent, statistical trial.

    In all honesty, the...

    Re: Playoff Pairings

Yeah, we learned it last year...I guess for it to be outwardly said again is just so dumb. It's a flawed way to handle things, and yet the NCAA doubles down on it.

    You're right...I should know...

    Re: Playoff Pairings

The other thing I heard the committee guy from the MEC specifically mention was how "quality wins" were heavily valued and important. I get it, but the other message to take away from that is "if...

    Re: MIAA PO hopes

Name recognition has nothing to do with the selection process.

First, S&T played one less D2 game than most of the rest of the teams that are currently above them. D2 win % is a primary criteria,...

Re: GVSU vs MTech - Sept 22, 2018

Definitely took courage to do that, Irish...or perhaps desperation. I was at the Bloomsburg game when Anes went down and the regular O was definitely "iffy" after Anes left. BK may have known going...
