    Re: WLU Recruting

To paraphrase a quote I've tried to live by...To be good you have to be good when no one is watching you.

I hope WLU has taken that to heart and is making an effort to truly be good when no one is...
  2. Re: Is the gap closing between D1 FCS Football and D2 Football?

Depends on how a team allocates scholly $'s. I would also point out that beyond 5 star blue chip players (players that almost NO FCS or DII ever get's out of HS), incoming freshmen that get schollys...

    Re: Scheduling FCS opponents

Don't know. Different teams schedule FCS for different reasons. Often it is because of $ but sometimes it is just because they want to give their players a chance to play against a D1 or perhaps...

    Re: WLU Recruting

Admitting you have a problem is the first step!!!!
  5. Re: Is the gap closing between D1 FCS Football and D2 Football?

Gap isn't closing. At BEST it is staying the same. DII team might get one or two true FCS quality players that for what ever reason decided to either go to a DII out of HS OR that transferred down...

    Re: Wesleyan coach steps down

Deffinently not ideal...but seems like he's getting out of coaching so his new job probably doesn't revolve around the football recruiting season. Guess it's better than the week before NSD or two...

    Re: WLU Recruting

I would imagine there are a couple of JUCO's but unless the team confirms (such as this case) or the player does, no way of knowing.

    Re: WLU Recruting

This is Kellars first recruiting year with the Toppers. I think it will pay dividends. God knows they have a lot of holes to fill but at least from the outside, it looks like they are at least making...

    Re: WLU Recruting

He has speed to burn, that's for sure. Looks like a hand catcher from the tape which is a plus. Not your typical burner type who are usually much shorter and lighter. He was apparently supposed to...

    Interesting

Just discovered that WLU has hosted a national championship football game for the past THREE years! In this years tilt, the Apprentice School Builders defeated Oakland University Grizzlies 55-14 at...

Re: 5 Arizona JCs drop FB

I think many schools that have dropped football over the years still use their football stadiums for other sports (Track, Lacorsse, Soccer, etc).

Here are some of the recent schools who have...

I think it's been completely reconfigured to a baseball "stadium".

    Re: At last it's over!

I'd say based on longevity with one program, he's below average. Most programs would probably have canned him at LEAST three years ago.

    Re: At last it's over!

I'm neither a friend or an enemy to this coaching staff. Just as it's right and OK to praise a HC and staff when they have on field success, it's equally OK to criticize them when they have...

    Re: At last it's over!

Yea...BigBoy was a hoot! "Shepherd has a stable of horses" and "In Such we Trust" were some of his classic lines of "discussion." Funny stuff when he'd go toe to toe with "Chunchy" on the UC QB who...

    Re: At last it's over!

As of several years ago, I know at least some of the coaches were aware of the board and would lurk from time to time. They didn't get "coaching tips" but liked to tune in for comic relief...There...

    Re: At last it's over!

From what I read it's only for D1. I would imagine it would have a sort of trickle down effect on recruiting as D1's try to lock their first tier recruits during the early period. I would imagine it...

I think a perfect situation for him would be to be the OC under an offensive minded HC like Kellar.

Similar to what I heard...There was a period (several games?) were he was gone but came back/was talked back for appearances.

I don't think there is a whole lot of chance he comes back but you...

    Re: At last it's over!

Kellar seems to be the most active followed by Hill, Monteroso and Hopkins. Haven't really been tracking them but that's the "feel" I get.

The info I have on Amedro is second hand but I trust the...

    Re: At last it's over!

And that one innocent Twitter post yesterday about putting players in a WLU uniform resulted in 35 players wanting to talk to WLU or take a look at them. Probably 99% of them will never come to WLU,...

    Re: At last it's over!

As they say, got to be in it to win it! Much will come down to what each school is willing to offer and how each player evaluates the roster make-up of each school. I'm sure WLU will get a few as...

Not right now. I only do that when there is an indication that they have signed with WLU. The 28 players are those who have said they have offers from WLU. I note that many have other offers...
