Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

Yeah, that's about how I see it as well. It will help AB for sure. On the other hand, I feel like the impact on WLU is minimal. Honestly, WJU starting football would impact WLU more than this will.

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

To be perfectly honest, the only reason why West Virginia has so many D2 schools is because the old WVIAC moved up to D2 as a package deal. Quite a big chunk of those schools would never be accepted...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I know some people associated with Pikeville. I got the feeling that they're happy where they are, but they'd be looking at moving if their conference ever starts to fall apart. At the present time,...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I'd love to see Frostburg make the jump, but you always have to wonder if they'd be accepted or not. However, I think that's the MEC's best chance at expansion, currently.

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I would be stunned if Washington and Lee had any real interest in moving up from D3. They always seemed to be very happy in the ODAC and fit in with that conference very well. On the flip side, their...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I think it's more like move on away from Wheeling Jesuit.

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

That doesn't mean a ton when it comes to conference names. I don't think a lot of people would confuse AB or D&E with being in the Midwest either. And if you're referring to the headquarters of the...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

You could still keep playing WJU in basketball. Nothing had to change there, other than being conference foes. And while West Liberty did push for WJU to be invited, the other schools could've put...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

Honestly, I think the only two places to hold the tournament are Charleston and Wheeling ... unless I'm not thinking of a venue. I have no problem with the basketball tournament being in Charleston,...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I actually disagree a bit. I think they should've said, "Come back when you start football." You have to play with the cards that you're currently dealt and not with what you may draw.

    Also, I...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

Part of this is based on rumors. Part of it is based on opinion. I'll start with the rumors first since they come from various people. None of this is first-hand knowledge, but I believe at least a...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

Those two may be the guys put in charge of nominating schools, but you also better believe that they're taking their marching orders from the presidents. And I honestly don't think the presidents...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

I don't know. Ask the idiots running this league. After all, it was their grand idea to keep Wheeling Jesuit while there were other schools ripe for the picking. They could've always left the door...

Re: Will Any MEC Schools move?

If schools want to move, they'll move. Really, my main concern is with Shepherd. While I like the idea of the MEC flourishing, the idiotic decision to let Wheeling Jesuit float in limbo could be...

    Re: Wheeling J Football?

Not trying to be mean, how many times has the GMAC pushed back the start up for football? I know it's at least been a couple of times. And sure, things may happen where the GMAC starts football, but...

    Re: Wheeling J Football?

I'll believe football when I see it from the GMAC. But even if that's the case, it's not like AB signs a lifetime membership in blood that can never be broken.

    Re: Wheeling J Football?

Personally, I don't think the MEC needs either WJU or AB. I've always been perplexed by WJU's inclusion in the conference, and it does not bother me one bit that AB is in the G-MAC instead of the...

Honestly, I still believe that if Shepherd had pulled out one of the games that it lost, the MEC would've had 2 playoff teams last season.

And Earls misses it. He's now 4-of-10 this season on FG attempts.

Way to go secondary! You crapped the bed on this one!

Shepherd picks up the first down and is now down to the NDC 20 with lest than 2 minutes left.
