PSAC: The end of the road

by Matt Burglund on 11-27-2011 at 08:48 AM
Football season is over for the PSAC.

California and Kutztown couldn't win on the road, and Winston-Salem State and New Haven are moving on. This marks the second consecutive season that a PSAC team failed to win Super Region One. PSAC: The playoffs continue

by Matt Burglund on 11-24-2011 at 02:58 PM
For the PSAC, it's put up or shut up time.

I've watched the last few days as fans of several PSAC, Northeast 10 and CIAA schools attack each other for their schools' perceived strength (or lack of) as the playoffs rolled into the second week. A lot of those debates can be answered Saturday when California takes on Winston-Salem State and Kutztown visits New Haven.

The host Vulcans, the No. 5 seed in Super Region One, outgained No. 4 ECSU 497-197 and forced four turnovers, two of which led to touchdowns. The game was played at California even though

by Matt Burglund on 11-18-2011 at 01:14 PM
Those of you who know me or have followed what I write for this web site know I'm not a fan of the NCAA's playoff selection process.

I just don't think you should use mathematics to pick playoff teams.
But anyway, I'll give credit to the much-maligned NCAA for getting it right in this case. Some fans have been upset about the fact the PSAC only got two teams in the playoffs, but I think it was the right number, and Kutztown and California were the right teams.

PSAC FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Kutztown claims first conference title

By The Indiana Gazette | Posted: Sunday, November 13, 2011 2:00 am

Marshall Vogel spelled an injured Kevin Morton and threw two touchdown passes in the second half to rally eighth-ranked Kutztown past No. 24 Slippery Rock, 21-14, for the first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship in school history.

Vogel completed 25 of 39 passes for 300 yards in an unexpected appearance in the
