  1. I remember that day! Was a good day, too! Yes, when I go to games, I do sit up there most of the time.

Thank you for the kind words....still getting my feet wet, and hope to do some more in depth stuff next year, but I'm really enjoying doing this so far!
  2. Howdy! BC Dude introduced us down at Tahlequah a couple of years ago. Do you sit up in EE with all the regulars? I'm over in Section C with the family and older alumni and townies (I fit all three categories!).

Keep up the good work. If you want some photos sometime let me know. I have a decent camera and photo pass for home games.

2017 Comes to a Close

by Ian Carlson on 12-07-2017 at 09:26 PM
For just the second time since 2003, the MIAA season came to an end during the quarterfinals of the playoffs. It was also just the second time in that span where there was not a playoff game featuring an MIAA team and the last teams playing were in bowl games, with 2014 being the other year in that timeframe. Oddly enough, that year was also the first time since 2008 that we had a new National Champion in the division, and we are guaranteed to have a first time champion this year. It’s even

The MIAA Goes Bowling and a Look Back at Playoff History

by Ian Carlson on 11-30-2017 at 09:13 PM
A magical season came to an end in Hays this past weekend, as the Tigers lost their first game of the season to Ferris State in the second round of the playoffs by a score of 31-21. Fort Hays State, playing in their first playoff game since 1995, hung tough for roughly the first 35 minutes of the game, as a 66 yard Kenneth Iheme TD run early in the third quarter cut the FSU lead to 10-7. But the bigger Bulldogs finally wore down the Tiger defense in the second half, scoring touchdowns on three

The Tigers are the Last Hope

by Ian Carlson on 11-24-2017 at 10:16 PM
Only one team saw any action last week, and in the first intra-regional playoff game between the MIAA and the GLIAC, the northern conference prevailed. As it turns out, the second round of this year’s playoffs will also be the second round of the MIAA vs. GLIAC battle, as the Tigers will host Ferris State for their first ever home playoff game as a member of the NCAA. Before we get to that contest, here’s a quick look at the first round game.

The Second Season is Here!

by Ian Carlson on 11-16-2017 at 11:26 PM
With the conclusion of last week’s games, the season ended for half the conference. However, the teams in the other half of the twelve team conference are all guaranteed at least one more game, with two of them having the potential for more. Not only did Fort Hays State and Northwest Missouri State make it to the playoffs, but MIAA teams were selected in all four of the postseason bowls in D2---and not without a little bit of controversy. Central Missouri got the bid in the Mineral Water Bowl

A New Champion Reigns, and Rivalry Week

by Ian Carlson on 11-09-2017 at 09:41 PM
For just the fourth time since 1989 (the year Pittsburg State transitioned from the NAIA to NCAA Division II and joined the conference), the MIAA Champion is neither Pittsburg State nor Northwest Missouri State. The Fort Hays State Tigers won the title outright by beating the defending champion NWMSU squad at Bearcat Stadium, joining the 1993 Missouri Southern State Lions, the 2005 Washburn Ichabods, and the 2012 Missouri Western State Griffons (who also won the title on Mel Tjeerdsma Field---and
