Centenary did. We were just talking about them at the regional game at Augie today. They had been the smallest school in D1 and didn't have football.

Appreciated the insight about UW-Whitewater and Mount Union. While I think both could do pretty well if they moved up, I fully understand why they never would. Thanks again.

  5. Dale,
No, I was four hours away in Aberdeen watching the Mavs squeek out a 21-14 win. I was reading about this game and it seems incredible. One Charger fan said that they could not have run out the clock. Terrible game to lose, I hope that they rebound from this. I was really hoping that Hillsdale would win. I guess that the NFL isn't the only place that has controversy. And of course, the Gophers losing to South Dakota!

    Laker,
Did you see any of the GV/HC game? Stunning offensive performances. A lot of new guys on both sides playing D, but both teams have future stars. A lot of folks in the GLIAC are questioning Hillsdale Head Coach Keith Otterbein as to why he didn't have the QB take a knee and run the clock down to not a whole lot. Chargers scored, had a blocked extra point attempt that GV ran back for two points. Then the HC kicker squibbed the ball to GV and gave the Lakers great field position and 1:17 left on the clock. End of story. Great game and I'm privileged to have witnessed it in person. High drama on the gridiron. I've seen a lot of football games in my day, but can't remember when I've seen one quite like this one. Looks like the NSIC is well represented in the AFCA poll.

Laker, I see that you're an older dude, like me, even though I have several years on you. However, age aside, I like your posts. I detest posters who know it all, or believe they do. Youthful indiscretion, I suppose. Additionally, you are a school teacher and I admire that. I do a little teaching/lecturing myself. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
  8. Honestly, I don't even know. Usually we don't start until after Labor Day, by state law. But this year it is late. They were going to try to petition the state to start earlier but I don't think that I did. I try to stay away during the summer.

I might go to the Twins game tomorrow. Tonight they needed the Dome, it finally rained.

Oh, that's too bad.....LOL...you're not alone. Blazetastic voted for the wrong GSC team in our poll. JR adjusted the count, but not the name. I guess it is hard to do that once it gets posted.

    When does school start back?

    J
  10. Good- I was disappointed how Afton played, not with her hustle though. Her shots didn't fall. I like the Whitney setup!
