  1. I think the team is going the right way. It's still young and will get stronger as the season goes on.

The team played really well. I don't think FSU was prepared for this years team. I was worried about the OL and their ability to protect Kinnick but they kept him upright and clean for the majority of the game. WVSU could have ran up the score if they kept Kinnick in but pulled him early in the 4th. I have been really impressed by the RBs they al looked good on Thursday. Early on the WRs struggled to catch balls but regrouped and turned in a good day as well. I'm really looking forward to this Saturday and seeing how well we do against UU at home.
  3. Unfortunately I live in NJ and don't get to many games. I probably wouldn't be the but I do love meeting people on here. Hopefully we will one day.

Hello WVSUDAD, I'll be coming to the WVS vs U VA W game Saturday. I have been reading/watching the MEC/WVIAC thread ever since I found out we were going D2, an have become an admirer of you and your son because of the respected way you both handle your posts an treatment of the other individuals on this site. It would be an honor to meet you and/or your son on the field after the game, I travel with the Cavs on the buses ever since my retirement in 2011.

The offense actually played well it was a rough start in the beginning but we are notoriously a team that starts off slow. The refs in this game were some of the worst i have ever seen. They were allowing both teams to get away with murder until the end of the game. I can remember at least 5 times in the game were flags obviously should have been thrown especially our opening punt when Cole Patterson was tackled while punting right in front of the ref. Good teams over come this and we clearly have a ways to go.

Good for both we can need them hopefully Sams knee or leg injury that kept him out from last weekends action is completely healed up Id rather be with out him in this game than him risk re injuring the leg.

The game was rough. Kinnick threw 3 picks. Sam Lester didn't start and Kenneth Starr got ejected. The D was placed in several bad spots due to turn overs. Cole Patterson struggled missing 3 field goals. The D was getting exploited by fade routes down the middle of the field. The positives from this game was the fact that the team never quit fighting despite the huge hole. Dorsey looked good coming in when the mass subs came in and was able to move the ball extremely well and even threw a TD.
  8. Thanks for the response. I went to see them play LIU and I guess you're right about depth because they started off okay but by the 2nd half they fell apart & my nephew was all city in Philly with a kid who played for me that was all SJ so there has to be talent. I'm glad he's happy but between him & my son at State last season was tough for our family. Lol!

I do think the current president has done some good things and I know she has been working very hard to clean up the school’s finances as well as trying to improve the on campus experience for the students. I hope she can help the school get to a better place because it is a very significant institution. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the campus, but the place really could be a gem if they could secure some funding for a few long overdue improvements.

The problems for Cheyney go way beyond football or the athletics department. The University is not in good health and hasn’t been for many years. Enrollment has declined and the quality of their student body has too. The admission standards are pretty low and the retention rates are awful. That also applies to the football team. One of their biggest problems is that they can’t keep kids in the program for 4 years. They are always playing young guys and they never have enough depth. Every one of their players was a very good high school player, so it’s not like they don’t have any athletes. They just don’t have enough bodies overall and they never have enough upper classmen.
