Who to cheer for, HBCU or PWI? D2 Championship/Super Bowl Comparison; 47%

by Gilberto Alvarado on 12-13-2012 at 05:22 PM
As the eve of the D2 Football Championship is upon us, there's some criticism/questions going around that have raised a few eyebrows. Do you root for the Winston Salem State because they are an HBCU or do you cheer for Valdosta State? Since Valdosta State is a Predominantly White Institution (PWI), there might be some people cheering for the HBCU simply because there has never been an HBCU football national champion on the D2 level.

As an HBCU Alum from Fayetteville State University

WSSU will win, while HBCU's unite in support of historic event!!!

by Gilberto Alvarado on 12-11-2012 at 02:06 PM
The Winston Salem State Rams have advance to the D2 Football National Championship game in Florence, Alabama by handily defeating the West Texas A & M Buffaloes, 41-18. The Rams winning is historic on so many levels, the sisterhood and brotherhood of HBCU's will be united for this event. Yes, event, its not just a game, its an event of historical implications.

The Rams sweep PSAC, WTAMU at WSSU starts at 6:30PM Primtime!!!

My oh my, here we go again! The Winston Salem State Rams played one of the most exciting football games I have ever witnessed as theY pulled out a come from behind victory against Indiana (PA) 21-17.

This was a gut wrenching performance for the Winston Salem State Rams as their resilience was tested for the first time all season. Starting Rams QB Anthony Carrothers was 10 for 25 for 259 yards, 1TD and 1INT in the game. Carrothers seemed to be in full control of the game going into

WSSU smashes Shippensburg, IUP is next!!!!!

by Gilberto Alvarado on 11-26-2012 at 12:03 PM
If they say defense wins championships, then the The Winston Salem State Rams could be on the right track for a championship run as the Rams used their #11 Ranked Defense to shut down the #1 Offense 37-14.

With Rams starting QB Kameron Smith out of the game from injuries sustained in the CIAA championship game, Rams reserve QB Anthony Carrothers didn't miss a beat as he threw for 19 of 37 for 332 yards, 3TDs 1 INT in the victory. Carrothers, who stands at 5-8, 185, stood large and

Prediction Shippensburg at Winston Salem State

by Gilberto Alvarado on 11-24-2012 at 10:29 AM
The playoffs are here and there is no room for error. This is where you put up or shut up. Ever since the regional rankings came out, WSSU was second in the region until the final regional rankings came out. Now, they have home field throughout playoffs until they get to Florence Alabama.

The Rams were tested in the CIAA Championship game against Elizabeth City State and starting QB Kameron Smith was knocked out of the game and did not play the entire second half. This posses a
