  2. Mountain East Conference - 2017 Season is Upon Us

    Well folks we are less than a week away from kickoff when the 2017 season gets underway. Mountain East Conference fans have plenty of action to select from as seven conference teams begin play Thursday evening; Fairmont State seeing the first out-of-conference competition as they host East Stroudsburg (PSAC).

    First, congratulations to Northwest Missouri State on another fantastic season. I wanted to allow both NWMS and UNA to enjoy the spotlight before posting another MEC blog.

    Another football season is in the history books for the Mountain East Conference. Shepherd continued to lead the conference; finishing one game away from a return trip to the national championship. Fairmont State followed a 6-4 regular season in 2015 with a 10-1 record—their only loss coming against Shepherd. ...

    The Mountain East Conference’s season came to its conclusion as Shepherd lost at home to North Alabama in the semi-final round of the playoffs.
