    No. 12 Winston-Salem State (1-0) vs. No. 23 Valdosta State (1-0) — Saturday, 4 p.m. (in Powder Springs, Ga.)

  4. Valdosta State, West Alabama join AFCA Top 25

    Following Week 1 victories, Valdosta State and West Alabama have each joined the American Football Coaches' Association Top 25 poll.

    The Blazers and Tigers join North Alabama and Delta State, both of whom started the season in the top 25.

    Valdosta State is now ranked 23rd following a 38-10 win over in-state foe Albany State, the Blazers 15th all-time win agains the Golden Rams in just 16 contests.

  5. Delta State, Florida Tech top power rankings

    The Gulf South Conference had a dominating start to the college football season this past weekend, with six teams claiming victories by a combined margin of 258-105.

    Shorter got the week started with a win, followed by West Georgia, Delta State, West Alabama, Valdosta State and Florida Tech. North Alabama was idle and Mississippi College was the league’s lone loss.
