1. A Shining Season for North Greenville

How can one not like what has happened with the North Greenville Crusaders this season?

I was able to listen to the Crusader - Delta State playoff game on Saturday (through the Delta State Radio network, and all involved with that broadcast did a superior job). . . . And what a football game it was!

North Greenville stood up straight, played hard, and they were in it to win it. In the end, Delta State left the playing field with a hard fought 28-23 victory ...

  2. MORE Crusaders!!!

Last week, in a response to one of the comments to my blog, I picked the North Greenville Crusaders to win their Saturday playoff game against a talented Mars Hill team. I even went so far as to call the Crusaders "The Team of Destiny." And that being as it may, I did not have a thing to do with the Crusader's historic 58-32 victory in the second round of the D2 playoffs. They won their ninth straight game of the year and the victory also avenged a (38-28) loss at the hands of Mars Hill earlier ...

  3. Plenty of Football on 11/19

There is still plenty of football to write about, plenty of teams and coaches and players to honor, and plenty of great fun to have as the 2011 college football season winds down.

For the 15 teams making up the Independents, all have concluded the 2011 season but two . . . Minot State has a regular season game left, and for the North Greenville Crusaders . . . it is a very well deserved spot in the DII playoffs.

I have had plenty of fun myself, and I will continue ...

  4. Independents . . . Predictions for 11/12

There are ten big games on the slate for the second Saturday in November and things are quickly winding down on what has been a fun and exciting 2011 football season.

As far as my picks, my 9-3 record for last week put me at 91-30 for this season.

    So for this weekend???

Central Oklahoma (2-8) will host Lindenwood (7-3). I thought UCO would do a lot better this year, and it is what it is. I will go with Lindenwood for the win.

    Central ...

  5. Independents . . . Predictions for 11/5

There are twelve big games set for the first Saturday in November for the Independents, and they will not get much bigger than when the UNC-Pembroke Braves (7-2) host Winston Salem (9-0). The Braves are regionally ranked and the Rams are a nationally ranked top ten squad. This writer has already stepped up and predicted the Braves as the winner of what should be one very good college football game.

    Eleven more, as well:

    Central Oklahoma (2-7) hosts Northeastern (6-3) ...
