  1. Week 10 Thoughts

Many people didn't see Assumption falling last Saturday except for a team from Waltham wearing white shirts and black helmets. Bentley came into the fire and calmly accepted the challenge and downed the number 12 team in the country 35-31.

Once again, it was the freshman combo of Stephen Sturm and Austin Ryan that excelled for the Falcons. They hooked up eight times for 284 yards and four scores to knock off the previously undefeated Greyhounds.

  2. 2017 NE-10 Award Season

It is that time of the season when my Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards are handed out as well as Coach, Team and Game of the Year.

Here are my selections for the 2017 season.

    Offensive Player of the Year

    Yianni Gavalas, QB, LIU Post

  5. 3rd Regional Ranking Thoughts

All of the ranked teams won last Saturday so little movement in the rankings was expected. The only flip of teams occurred at the bottom of the rankings.

    1. IUP 10-0

They defeated Mercyhurst 36-10 and will now play in the PSAC Championship game against West Chester. The scenarios are simple for the Crimson Hawks. A victory and they are the top seed in the region earning the bye. A loss will drop them to third or fourth and a first-round home game.
