  1. Thoughts on an exciting week 4 of SAC Football

Week Four of the SAC football season was by far the most interesting to date. The most significant results were Newberry's thorough domination of Carson-Newman in the Wolves’ SAC opener and Lenoir-Confirming that they are “back" with a win at Wingate. But I want to start with the other two games that were on the schedule because they impressed me just as much.

Mars Hill entered the weekend 0-3 and coming off back to back performances against Shaw and Lenoir-Rhyne that were just awful. ...

  2. SAC Football: Week 4 Preview

The threats from Hurricane Florence forced numerous changes to the week three college football schedule. Only one of five SAC games went off as originally planned. Three were rescheduled and one was cancelled. Its definitely a hardship to move football games during the same week and I am grateful to everyone that contributed to making those games happen. The SAC teams, UNCP included, went a combined 1-8 in out of conference action over the opening weekend. That’s one win, eight losses. Even if you toss out the FCS games, which is fair to do since they don’t count for regional rankings, 1-5 against D2 isn’t much better. Three months from now, if we end up in the same situation we ...

  5. SAC Week 1 Preview

At long last, here we are! The start of the new college football season. As I say every year, life begins anew on Labor Day weekend. Time to wave good bye to our families and tell the boss to have someone else do it. It’s football season again. Everything else comes second. My wife resigned herself to this understanding a long time ago…

If you missed my season preview for the 2018 SAC Football season, please give it a quick read here. One thing I did not mention in the season preview ...
