  1. MIAA - Week 1 predictions

Sorry for the late arrival, folks. You deserve better.

Too bad. You're stuck with me for at least another year.

I'm going to ask you to bear with me this year. I don't know what my availability is going to be, but I will do my best to continue providing the best coverage I can for the MIAA.

Here's a look at my predictions for this week's games. All games are Thursday night.

Missouri Western at No. 20 Central Missouri ...
  2. MIAA - Northeastern State 1 of 4 D2 teams to finish season winless

Northeastern State squandered their largest lead of the season Saturday, allowing the final 28 points of a 35-16 loss to Lindenwood, marking a disappointing end to an already-dreadful season.

The RiverHawks finish the 2014 campaign 0-11. It's their first winless season since 2004 and the first time in program history they've finished a season with 11 losses.

NSU joins Cheyney (PSAC), Southern Nazarene (GAC) and Minnesota Crookston (NSIC) as the only winless teams in ...

  3. MIAA - It's simple for Gorillas & Bearcats: Win and you're in

Sounds simple, but will it be?

No. 5 Pittsburg State and No. 7 Northwest Missouri will advance to the NCAA Division 2 playoffs - and potentially play each other in the first round - with wins Saturday.

Pittsburg State (9-1) seemingly has the harder test, heading south to Edmond, Okla., to face 8-2 Central Oklahoma. Northwest Missouri, whose only loss came a month ago to Pitt, has an unexpected home game against 4-6 Washburn.

    The Gorillas and Bearcats ...
  4. MIAA - Taking the week off, but I'll still be watching

It appears to be a relatively easy slate of games to pick this week; With no marquee matchups to highlight, I figured I’d take a week off.

But I still wanted to throw out my predictions and offer a look at some out-of-conference games you should be keeping an eye on.

So here’s my predicted winners in this week’s MIAA games.

    Central Missouri at Northeastern State
    Washburn at Central Oklahoma
    Missouri Southern
    at Lindenwood
    Nebraska-Kearney ...
  5. MIAA - Pitt back atop the TANQB; Tight race among the 'almosts'

And everyone thought I was crazy for having Pittsburg State atop my TANQB ratings early in the season. I was just ahead of the game.

The Gorillas are back to the top of my weekly MIAA power rankings after last week’s very-impressive victory at Northwest Missouri. You’re welcome, Gorilla fans, for giving Northwest my “kiss of death” in picking them to be 21-point victors in that game.

As I was putting together my list of Top, Almosts, Not-Quites and the Basement ...
