  1. Previewing Week 10 in the South Atlantic Conference

Can it get any better than an 80 degree college football Saturday, in late October, without a cloud in the sky?

Of course it can, when that college football Saturday includes an opportunity to meet the one and only Bob Ryan, a regular contributor on ESPN shows Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption.

So please, pardon that interruption from what would otherwise be the lead story to this column: Wingate’s steep fall in the regional rankings.

  2. Week 10 and the Ever-Changing Playoff Picture

After finally getting all the games right for the first time this season in Week 8, Week 9 roughed me up a bit, as I went 3-3 for the second time this year. Once again, both the Hornets and Lopers proved me wrong…which is a very good thing for the Hornets and a not so good thing for the Lopers. Also good for the Hornets this week was the news that they jumped UMD in this week’s Regional Rankings, moving up from fifth to fourth. 5. CIAA Week 10: Its Rivalry Week, And The Stakes Couldnt Be Higher.

If there is one exciting thing about the CIAA, it’s the last week of the regular season. The conference follows the NFL mentality of scheduling rivals for the last regular season game as a way to keep interest high. Over the last three seasons, this setup has paid dividends. The CIAA South was the division that hosted a de facto division championship game on week 10 the last two years. This year, the focus shifts to the ultra-competitive North. Here is me interviewing myself on what’s important: ...
