  2. Lenoir-Rhyne heads to Valdosta State for Super Region 2 Final

    Recapping Round Two

    Miracle at Moretz

When I describe what I do during the fall for Division II football (the blogging, photography, travel, social media, etc.) most people don’t get it. I guess it seems kind of silly to them. Why would I spend so much time driving around North and South Carolina going to small college games that very few people care about, for schools I have no connection to. I guess I can see that. Saturday’s game will mark the 34th all-time meeting between Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate ...
  4. Bears play for a championship, Eagles fall, Bulldogs rise in SAC Week 10

Heading into week 10 of the D2 Football season, Lenoir-Rhyne has a chance to win the SAC championship outright, with a game to spare. Think about that. This is a team that was projected to finish near the bottom of the SAC (most likely with a losing record) for the third year in a row. They were on no one's radar for championship or playoff consideration. Yet here they are on the brink of championship. Its been an amazing ride to this point and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this team come of ...

  5. Regional Rankings, Changes at Limestone and Week 9 Preview

    Changes at Limestone
How often is a football coach fired without even completing one full season? It happens in the professional ranks of basketball, hockey and baseball where there is a much larger sample size of game performances to evaluate, but in college football? That’s a different story. End of season firings for first year coaches are very rare too but Limestone didn’t even wait that long. Head Coach Tony Ierulli, who was hired in February of this year, has been dismissed just ...
