  1. Halfway Done in the MEC - Week 6

We're halfway through the 2016 season and we have a little bit of everything going on. Two teams (Fairmont State and Shepherd) remain undefeated and both look capable of winning out. But each team has five opponents remaining who would love nothing more than to destroy their perfect record. We have a couple of teams on a three-game win streak including the conference's Cinderella Story, UVA-Wise (West Liberty is the other). It will be interesting to see just how predictable the season plays ...
  2. Week 7 in the GLVC

Since we’ve reached THAT point of the season, with the conference slate halfway complete for more than half of the league’s schools and the overall schedule past the mid-season week six mark, I thought it couldn’t hurt to remind everyone about how the playoff system in Div. II football works. The chatter on the D2 Football Message Board has certainly shifted that direction in the past 10 days, so, for those who are new to the game and checking out the specifics for the first time, here’s a quick ...

It is Week 7 in the NE-10 and it is finally football weather. Cool and crisp is in the forecast. Plus the bright lights will be back in Easton for the league.

My Thoughts: Plenty of points expected.

St. Anselm fell on the road to LIU Post 63-20. The Hawks had no answers ...

  4. CIAA Week 7 Preview

The CIAA is rarely without its theatrics. After watching the conference deal with political shenanigans and canceling its basketball media day, we saw what was probably the conference’s first ever FOUR DAY football weekend. While the games finished in largely predictable fashion, they weren’t without their own set of theatrics. Like a movie, the drama started on Thursday and awesomely finished with the last game on Sunday.

    In chronological order:

    On Thursday

    Behold, the cookies!!!

Well, there’s a reason they line up and play the games. On any given Saturday you just never know how things will turn out. We certainly had some surprising (to some folks, if not most of us) outcomes in the GSC last weekend.

First of all, I was really pulling for Shorter and they all but had it won until a long pass by CAU secured a late touchdown and the Hawks’ potential game-winning drive stalled as time expired. ...
