Three months ago, athletes across the country laced up their shoes and buckled their chinstraps for a grueling grind of practice and games, all in search of a conference championship and possible berth in the NCAA Div. II playoffs. With one week left to play, two GLVC teams are still hoping to play out that script while all eight who are in action this coming Saturday have story lines of which they hope to pen strong final chapters.

The second set of NCAA regional rankings came out Monday, and the news was still looking pretty good for the Great Lakes Valley Conference, as both Southwest Baptist (No. 3) and Truman State (No. 6) are sitting solid with just two regular season games to go. A few of my thoughts and comments about the regional rankings as they stood for Super Region 4 this week:
