South Atlantic Conference
Every week I type out "week 4,5, and now 6", and I just can not believe how fast the season goes by. We wait what feels like years for it to start and then the season is over in no time. But the reality of it right now, is that there are still six more games for all 8 SAC teams. We've seen some teams start to separate themselves and then there are some teams still hanging on with an outside chance to make a run. I know we always argue on the message board about what goals SAC teams have, through
What a week of football. Just when we thought we would get plenty of answers and feel confident in where this league was headed this year, Catawba pulls off a massive upset. I really think it is one of top five upsets in the last decade. Based on all variables: in Mossy Creek, C-N #10, Catawba shutout the week before, and so on. Really puts a lot of doubt in all of our minds on what kind of team CN has and how good Catawba can be. The LR defense is what, to me, stands them apart from the Eagles

The final week of September football. Three more SAC games that will either have the contenders rise to the top or will muddy the waters even more and keep us guessing for another week.
Week 4. In order of time.
Catawba (2-1) at #10 Carson-Newman (3-0)
1 p.m. - Jefferson City, Tenn.
The Eagles and Indians begin our fourth week of football in Mossy Creek. Just about everyone on the board lost all faith in Catawba after being shut out at home last week
This is my third effort to write my column after losing the first two drafts. The first one had four out of five games and the second column with two games done. So this is going to be a weak effort at number three. Gotta do better. Lesson: work harder earlier in the week and always back up your work!!
Should be an interesting week of football. Despite the great record combined by SAC teams, I think there are still many question marks heading into this week. This week will separate

Truly sorry for lack of column last week. As any SID/broadcaster will tell you and some of you know, the first week or so of the new year is a mess. Even without a football game to work, I still was crushed with things going on last week. I also had some personal responsibilities to attend to and just didn't get the column finished. Back in the saddle though and ready for the season.
Here we go!
Games in order of time
Florida Tech (1-0) at Newberry (1-0)
