Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
Week 1, in the Norther Sun was a pretty wild and crazy weekend, filled with a surprising upset, and a late touchdown victory for another school.
There were a couple of expected things that happened, Minnesota Duluth and Winona State showed dominance, and their week one victories set the stage for what might be the biggest Week 2 football game in the history of this conference.
Am I overstating it? Maybe--Maybe not. I think Winona is primed for a run this season, but

Upper Iowa at Bemidji State
Last Year: 48-7, Bemidji State
Chet Anderson Stadium is likely to be alive and rockin on Friday night as the Bemidji State Beavers open their season at home against Upper Iowa.
For the Beavers, it stands as their only home night game, and what's more its on a Friday night, its supposed to be fairly warm, and right along the lake, I couldn't think of a better spot to watch a football game on Friday night.
Minnesota Duluth at Southwest Minnesota State
After four consecutive NSIC Championships, and two National Championships in the last four years, there is no question that the University of Minnesota Duluth is the pre-season favorite in the Northern Sun.
The Bulldogs have earned that right, and with Chace Vogler as their now fourth year starting quarterback, the Bulldog offense may be even stronger. Coach Bob Nielson says Vogler has worked hard to improve his passing,
Melodee Hoffner, the wife of Minnesota State University football coach Todd Hoffner made her first public statement since her husband was arrested on chargest of child pornography.
Melodee Hoffner expressed publicly the support for her husband.
