Ten games up, and ten games down, and the CIAA championship is upon us.
The Winston Salem State Rams are coming into this game as heavy favorites to repeat as champs with their 10-0 record, #4 D2football.com ranking and #2 AFCA Ranking. This is a team that last year went all the way to the D2football National Semifinal game.
Their opponent, The Elizabeth City State Vikings which has played one of the toughest schedules in all of D2football and are coming into the game
With one week left in the regular season, the Championship game has been set. The Winston Salem State Rams will defend their title against the Elizabeth City State Vikings in Durham on November 10th in Durham, NC at Durham County Stadium.
The Rams took their frustration of their regional ranking and smashed Shaw U 62-31 to clinch the division. ECSU, took care of business defeating Virginia Union 27-21 and got a little help from Chowan beating Virginia State 33-21.

So I'm sure by now you have seen the regional rankings. What a slap in the face to Winston Salem State and the CIAA! How in the world can Shippensburg be ranked ahead of WSSU if The Rams are ranked #4 in the D2Football.com poll and #2 in the AFCA poll while Shippensburg is ranked 13th?
I'm angered. Wait, more than angered, I'm pissed off!!!!! Yes I said it, I'M PISSED OFF!!!! Two years ago, I could understand, but last year, WSSU made it all the way to the national semi-finals.

It's hard to believe, but there is only three weeks left in the football season and the Northern Division seems to be up for grabs. For some odd reason, every time I give a team credit for their victory the previous week, they happen to lose the following week; hence: Bowie State!
Last week I gave Bowie credit winning their game against Chowan which was well deserved, this week, they allow Virginia State to hang around and the VSU Trojans pull off the upset in overtime during Bowie's

The Northern Division of the CIAA has turned into a dog fight. While Chowan and Elizabeth City are still the division leaders, they have opened up the door for Bowie State.
Before I go further, I must apologize to the Bowie State faithful. I've been hard on Bowie. Part of my harshness towards Bowie is that I'm still emotionally scarred from picking the Bulldogs to win the CIAA when they had 18 returning starters.
