Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
Week nine already…Only a few games are left in the regular season, but plenty of playoff excitement is ahead and the first round of regional rankings were released last week. Two more rounds of rankings will come before the playoff tournament field is announced on Sunday, November 15.
The MEC brings us more Thursday night football this week. A pair of 5-3 teams face off in Charleston in what should be a very even match up. Check it out of you online Thursday night.

Kutztown Renames Stadium in honor of Andre Reed
Kutztown University appropriately renamed the football stadium in honor of the University’s most accomplished athlete. The sign on the front of the two-story press box inside the stadium now reads ANDRE REED STADIUM. Reed, a native of Allentown, PA, played at Kutztown from 1981-1984 and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 1985 NFL draft with the 86th pick. As it always does, mid-season got here in a hurry. It seems like just a few days ago that we baked in the summer humidity to see the season openers for our favorite teams and now it won't long until we're dragging out the heavy parkas, gloves and boot warmers. As discussed heading into the weekend, there weren’t many thrilling match ups on the schedule for week 5. Thankfully, the two big ones we did have did not disappoint. Both games came down to the final minutes and were decided by four points or less. Gannon lost for the first time this season, leaving the conference with three unbeaten teams.
